Odyssey House has received a two-year, $920,000 contract from OASAS to launch a new Street Outreach Program to support the delivery of harm reduction and treatment services in the Bronx starting January 2026.

This program will deploy an Outreach Coordinator and two Peer Outreach Workers seven days a week to connect individuals directly with lifesaving support and treatment options. Services will include naloxone distribution and training, wound care supplies, linkage to addiction treatment and recovery programs, assistance navigating benefits, and distribution of necessities such as socks and hygiene items.

Outreach efforts will focus on overdose “hot spots” identified through data mapping to ensure direct engagement within communities most affected by substance use and overdose.

“This funding strengthens our work with community providers delivering lifesaving services to high-need populations,” said OASAS Commissioner Dr. Chinazo Cunningham. “Through this program, we are removing barriers to addiction services and connecting underserved communities with the support they need to live healthy lives.”

“Meeting people where they are with dignity, compassion, and practical support is at the heart of Odyssey House’s mission,” said Dr. Peter Provet, President and CEO. “This new program allows us to bring vital resources directly to people in the Bronx who need them most.”
