Residential Treatment

You’re unique—and so are the reasons you’re battling drugs or alcohol.

That’s why an experienced Odyssey House counselor will get to know you and understand your life challenges before prescribing a treatment program for you.

If your problem is chronic or severe, we may recommend our residential treatment program to you. These comprehensive, live-in treatment programs provide you with a caring place to start your life over without the pressures that tore it down.

Because everyone’s needs are different, we provide a wide range of residential programs for New Yorkers of all ages—teens and young adults to senior citizens. If you’re a mom with young children, our Family Center of Excellence enables you to stay together while you’re in treatment. We even provide on-site daycare and preschool programs.

A FOCUS ON YOUR TOTAL WELL-BEING

At Odyssey House, we believe that integrated care—a combination of primary and behavioral health services focused on your total well-being—is the most effective approach to achieving a lasting recovery and a more fulfilling life.

When you arrive, we’ll give you a medical exam and create a personal health care program for you. We’ll also provide you with on-site licensed medical and dental services throughout your time with us.

We employ proven and effective treatment methods—commonly known as evidence-based practices—that are designed to help you learn new skills to manage the challenges in your life that may have contributed to your substance use disorder.

We’ll provide you with education and job training; you can even complete your TASC (Test Assessing Secondary Completion), a high-school equivalency test that has replaced the GED. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in arts and fitness programs to enrich your life and health—in treatment and beyond.

As you get ready to complete our program, Odyssey House specialists can help you identify and apply for safe and affordable housing—for you and your family if you need it—so you can start your life fresh.

HOW LONG IS THIS GOING TO TAKE?

That depends on your needs, but most treatment programs range from three to six months or longer. A counselor will review your personalized program and options with you before you begin. The choice is always yours.

The road to recovery is not always easy, but the journey has changed the lives of thousands of New Yorkers like you. And the sooner you begin, the sooner you can love your life again.

PROVIDING YOU WITH A CONTINUUM OF CARE — FOR LIFE

You may leave Odyssey House, but we never leave you. We’re here to help you make a smooth transition from treatment to a lifetime of independent living. After you complete your treatment program, you can count on us for ongoing counseling and support through our Outpatient Services center in the Bronx, as well as peer support and mentoring through our Recovery Network.
