On June 4, Odyssey House gathered on Wards Island to mark the official opening of the Kate Rothko Center for Recovery. The ceremony brought together state partners, board leadership, the Rothko family, clinical staff, and one resident who talked about what recovery takes and what this place has given him.
We captured it on video. In under three minutes, you’ll hear the full arc of this project: from the years of planning and an extraordinary construction story, to the clinical philosophy behind the center, the role of art in recovery, and why the name above the door matters. It is, in the truest sense, a story about what becomes possible when people commit to doing something hard and doing it right.
