AARON: LONG ISLAND

“This is my last chance,” Aaron says when he talks about his time here at Odyssey House.

“I never want to disappoint myself or my family again, so I’m making each day in treatment count.”

Heroin Recovery StoryAaron, 25, came to Odyssey House after being mandated for selling heroin on Long Island. During his months in treatment, Aaron has gained insight into his unhealthy behavior and understands the toll it has taken on him and his family.

He has also taken on more duties within the community; Aaron finds the additional responsibility is establishing a routine that will help him stay focused on his recovery when he completes treatment.

Looking to the future, Aaron enrolled in vocational training for asbestos removal. It’s hard work, but he is enjoying the challenge and is looking forward to the stability a career will bring him.
