Our clients come from all walks of life within our community, including those incarcerated or previously incarcerated for non-violent crimes related to their substance use disorder.
That’s why we work closely with the criminal justice system to advocate for our clients. At Odyssey House, we believe that everyone deserves a second chance—and the right support to make it count.
Within the Odyssey House Admissions Department, we have court liaisons who act as advocates for our clients and work to ensure an environment of cooperation with the court systems.
Our court liaisons interview and assess individuals with non-violent crimes for placement into Odyssey House, and work with treatment courts, family courts, judges, district attorneys, and defense attorneys to work towards a positive outcome for our clients. We attend Family and Criminal Courts proceedings with our clients to provide support, clear and concise communications, and family reunification.
We also operate the Edgecombe Transitional Housing Facility, a first-of-its-kind collaboration among Odyssey House, the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports, and the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
THE EDGECOMBE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FACILITY:
- 3-6 Month post-incarceration housing program for recently released individuals
- Case management services
- Recovery and reintegration support
- Entitlement, housing assessment, and support
- Vocational assessment, placement, and training
- Employment assessment and placement
