Odyssey House hosts Narcan training for Overdose Awareness Day

To mark International Opioid Overdose Awareness Day, Odyssey House held free opioid overdose reversal training sessions in East Harlem and the Bronx aimed at equipping the community with lifesaving skills. Narcan (naloxone) can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, and knowing how to use it can mean the difference between life and death.

The training, led by our outreach teams, showed more than 125 participants how to recognize an overdose and properly administer Narcan. Attendees got hands-on practice and took home Narcan kits, ready to help if they ever encounter an emergency.
