What age groups does Odyssey House serve?
Odyssey House offers specialized programs for adolescents, adults, and senior citizens 55 years and older.
Where is Odyssey House located?
Odyssey House has locations in East Harlem, the East Village and the Bronx.
How long does treatment last?
Treatment plans at Odyssey House are individualized; therefore, treatment duration varies from person to person.
Are the young adult programs gender-specific?
Yes, we have an all-female program, Lafayette Avenue, in located in the Bronx and an all-male program, Leadership Center, in Manhattan.
What is the minimum age to be admitted into the ElderCare Program?
You must be at least 55 years old to be admitted into the ElderCare Program.
Can people with mental health problems be admitted?
Yes, a level of care determination is made on a case-by-case basis.
Do you provide vocational or educational services?
Yes, we offer Board of Education classes and High School Equivalency (HSE/TASC) testing on-site.
Can people with multiple medical issues be admitted?
Yes, there are on-site medical and dental clinics licensed by the Department of Health.

Donations & Funding
How is Odyssey House funded?
Odyssey House programs and services are funded primarily through government contracts. Ancillary services, such as our children’s library and the Odyssey House Art Project, are funded by foundation and individual donations.

How is my donation spent?
Odyssey House seeks to operate efficiently and to minimize management and administrative costs. In fiscal year 2015, we allocated 90% of our expenditures for program services — a number that is well above the standard recommended by the American Institute of Philanthropy, one of the leading charity rating organizations in the US.
