5BOROS: Art of Recovery

An Exhibition by the Odyssey House Art Program

Odyssey House invites you to join us for our 2025 exhibition, 5BOROS: Art of Recovery, which will showcase artwork created by members of the Odyssey House Art Program. Inspired by life in Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island, the artworks reflect the influence of the five boroughs on each artist’s personal journey through recovery.

Date: Wednesday, April 2, 2025
Time: 4 – 7 PM
Location: Odyssey House Haven, 239 E. 121st St, NYC 10035

The exhibition encourages artists to explore the questions: What is your art of recovery? How does living in the five boroughs shape your experience? What inspires you about your community? Through various mediums, these works offer a glimpse into how art, recovery, and community are deeply connected.

We are also proud to highlight our ongoing collaboration with The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Odyssey House residents took part in studio workshops and museum tours led by MoMA’s educators. Artists had the opportunity to engage in various art mediums such as printmaking, photography, and collage. The experience allowed them to express their stories and explore how the creative process benefits recovery.
