11th Annual Run for Your Life 5K Run & Recovery Walk

Running for recoveryThis fun-filled community event will include children’s activities and races, a 5K fun run, recovery walk, free T-shirts, Zumba demonstrations, music, refreshments, and a silent auction.

Registration is $20. Children under 12 are free. Register online or by mail.

If you are unable to come but would like to make a donation in support of Run for Your Life, please click here. All proceeds benefit men, women and children in treatment at Odyssey House.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Participate in the Event: Individuals can participate by walking or running the USA Track and Field certified course. Or form a team of friends, family or co-workers to join in on the fun. Ask your employer to sponsor a company team!

Corporate Sponsorship: Download the Run for Your Life sponsorship packet or contact Carolyn Abrams at cabrams (at) odysseyhousenyc.org.

Silent Auction: Bid on one of the great items in our silent auction. Take a look at the items on offer here, and make your way to the sponsor tent to place your bid. Bidding closes at 11:15 am.

Sponsor a Client: For $20, you can sponsor an Odyssey House client’s participation in Run for Your Life.

DIRECTIONS

Subway/Bus:

Take the 4, 5, or 6 Lexington Ave. trains to 125th St., then transfer on the NW corner of 125th St. and Lexington Ave. for the M35 bus to Randall’s Island.

By Car:

NOTE: Bridge toll is $7.50 upon entering; there is no charge to leave the Island.

All automobile access is via the RFK Triborough Bridge. If navigating with GPS, please use “20 Randall’s Island Park, New York, NY 10035″ as your destination.

From Manhattan: If paying with E-ZPass at toll, stay left at toll plaza for the exit ramp to Randall’s Island, immediately after the toll plaza. If paying cash at toll, stay right for the exit to Randall’s Island, about a half-mile past toll plaza.

From Queens: Stay right for the exit to Randall’s Island, immediately after the toll plaza.

From the Bronx: Once on the Bridge continue toward Queens. After the Queens toll plaza, bear right for the Randall’s Island exit (about 200 yards).

By Foot:

The 103rd Street Footbridge in Manhattan is open to pedestrians and cyclists 365 days per year, 24 hours per day and is accessible at the East River Esplanade at 103rd Street and FDR Drive. Pedestrians can also walk across on the Robert F. Kennedy (Triborough) Bridge from Manhattan, Queens or the Bronx.
